Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered hard alloy particles binding alloy with superior performance for manufacturing a wear resistant material by adding a specified amount each of Cu, Ni, Co, Mn, Si and Mg to Al as a principal component. CONSTITUTION: An Al-base alloy consisting of 2W8% Cu, 0.5W7% Ni, 0.5W6% Co, 0.5W2.5% Mn, 0.2W2% Si, 0.1W2% Mg and the balance Al is melted. Crushed sintered hard alloy particles 1 consisting of carbides of W, Ta, etc. are coated with borax, put into the molten alloy, and dispersed uniformly by agitation. Case 3 is made of mild steel or other material having superior weldability and cleaned by pickling. Molten binding alloy 2 contg. particles 1 is poured into case 3, solidified, press formed with a press machine or the like, and hardened to manufacture a wear resistant material for the bowl tip of a bulldozer. This material can easily be welded to the tip, has superior toughness and wear resistance, and prevents particles 1 from falling out. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
